To provide a display device for Japanese character strings that reflect the phonology, strength, order, and Japanese translation, faithfully to foreign language speech when a foreign language voice is spoken, the Japanese or symbols corresponding to the spoken foreign language sentence is displayed, and the Japanese character string for foreign language speech that displays the Japanese character string corresponding to the outputted foreign language audio data is displayed, faithfully to the foreign language voice.SOLUTION: The Japanese character string display device for foreign language speech identifies a continuous cluster of a waveform at the same time as the foreign language is spoken. The pronunciation kana character string written with spaces is displayed in the display medium to reflect the strength of the cluster voice, the difference in phonology from Japanese, and the articulation change. In addition, the device displays the pronounced Japanese translation string translated into Japanese in order from the head word for each cluster and displays the pronounced part of the foreign language.
