The present invention provides a pain estimation method and device capable of objectively and accurately determining the pain of an estimation target. More specifically, a pain monitoring method for monitoring the pain of the estimation target based on an electroencephalogram of the estimation target, an apparatus, a system for implementing the pain monitoring method, a method for generating a model for discriminating the pain of the target, and the implementation thereof. An apparatus and a system are provided. An improved method of machine learning, and an apparatus and system for implementing it are also provided. In order to efficiently provide accurate pain discrimination of the present invention, the pain is evaluated by using an electroencephalogram feature including at least one of the electroencephalogram features such as an electroencephalogram feature correlation and a complexity index.
