To provide an atrial fibrillation detection device and an atrial fibrillation detection method capable of accurately determining a state of atrial fibrillation in a simple method.SOLUTION: An atrial fibrillation detection device includes; storage means (114) that stores the number of abnormal pulse waves for each of the measurements of pulse waves performed a plurality of times; maximum value calculation means (108) for calculating the maximum value of the number of abnormal pulse waves; median value calculation means (110) for calculating a median value of the number of abnormal pulse waves; and atrial fibrillation detection means (112) for detecting a state of the atrial fibrillation when the maximum value calculated by the maximum value calculation means is a predetermined threshold or higher and the median value calculated by the median value calculation means is not zero.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
