GLYCEROL ACRYLIC DERIVATIVE COPOLYMERS, THEIR OBTAINING PROCESS AND ITS APPLICATION AS PRESSURE-SENSITIVE ADHESIVES (PSA) AND AS CATALYSTS IN TRANSESTERIFICATION REACTIONS AND FATTY ACID STERIFICATION
the present invention is about obtaining microparticulate polymeric materials with structures of the polyhipe type, obtained from suspension polymerization processes of styrene and a macromonomer (n-acylglycerol) obtained from a process of glycerol esterification with acrylic acid. moreover, the present invention also describes the applications of porous microparticles in different areas and presents its use as a catalyst, after modification via sulfonation of the polymeric structure, in transesterification and esterification processes of fatty acids. in addition to obtaining and using polymeric microparticles, changes in the composition of monomers (styrene and n-acylglycerol) lead to obtaining materials that behave like adhesive films, which with fractions greater than 15% of n-acylglycerol exhibit adhesion (tack) that are typical of pressure sensitive adhesives (psa). the present invention also presents a process and the use of a macromonomer obtained from a material from a renewable matrix (glycerol), the obtaining of polyhipe-type particles from a suspension polymerization process and without the use of porogenic agents , in addition to obtaining polymeric films based on styrene and n-acylglycerol that are used as pressure sensitive adhesives (psa).
