a connection reactivation method, a mobility and access management function entity, and user equipment are provided, so as to provide, when the user equipment accesses a 5g core network using an n3gpp access network and is on a idle state, a connection reactivation solution enabling user equipment to switch from idle to connected state. the method includes: a mobility and access management role entity receiving a first message sent by a session management role entity, where the first message carries a first reactivation indication. the mobility and access management role entity stores the first reactivation indication. User equipment sends a second message to the mobility and access management role entity using an n3gpp access network. the mobility and access management role entity sends a third message to the user equipment based on the first reactivation indication using the n3gpp access network. the third message carries a connection reactivation indication, to instruct the user equipment to reactivate a connection from a pdu session established on one side n3gpp. the user equipment initiates a second service request using the n3gpp access network.
