A method for managing seal formation in which a plurality of tightening locations are set on flanges (10-1, 10-2) that sandwich a gasket (12) and a bolt (6) and a nut (8) are provided in each tightening location and tightened, wherein flange connection with highly precise tightening is achieved by way of: a step of tightening the bolt and the nut with a tightening tool (14) for which a first tightening torque value (T1) is set; a step of detecting the axial force on the bo a step of calculating or selecting a torque coefficient (k2) for the bolt by using the detected axial force; and a step of setting, for the tightening tool, a second tightening torque value (T2) that is calculated or selected by using the torque coefficient, for each tightening location of the bolts.
