A device and method for identifying aggressiveness in anger of a user isdisclosed. Thedevice includes a first detection unit, which detects brainwaves from the leftand right sidesof the brain of the user. The first detection unit also detects .alpha. powervalues are detected fromthe brainwave of the left and right sides. The device also includes acalculation unit, whichcalculates a degree of imbalance between the .alpha. power values. A seconddetection unit in thedevice detects a heartbeat of the user and a counting unit counts a heart rateper minute basedon a timing of the detected heartbeat. An identification unit calculatessquare root of a sum ofsquare of the degree of imbalance and square of the heart rate to acquireapproach motivationas strength of aggressiveness in anger of the user.
