This laser oscillation device 1 is for a direct-diode laser method in which laser light is output to a laser machining head 3 on the basis of a drive command from a system control device 5 for controlling a laser robot 4 provided with the laser machining head 3. This laser oscillation device 1 comprises: a laser module 10 having, embedded therein, a plurality of laser diodes connected in series or in parallel; a power supply circuit 20 for driving the laser module 10 with a constant current; and a power supply control unit 30 for controlling the power supply circuit 20 on the basis of the drive command and carrying out failure diagnosis on the basis of the region in a diagnosis map, which has been divided into a plurality of regions beforehand, that the current and voltage applied to the laser module 10 fall into.
