This method for constructing a model of COD change over time comprises: a change-over-time measurement data storage step for storing COD change-over-time measurement data DK for each of a plurality of types of known compounds K, a fitting step for fitting the COD change-over-time measurement data DK to a COD change-over-time equation CP including a first coefficient A and second coefficient B and thereby obtaining a fitted first coefficient AF resulting from the correction of the first coefficient A in equation (1) and a fitted second coefficient BF resulting from the correction of the second coefficient B in equation (1), a quantum chemistry calculation step for obtaining a quantum chemistry calculation value QCVK, an attribute acquisition step for acquiring an attribute ATK, and a regression equation construction step for constructing a first regression equation RE1 having the first coefficient A as the dependent variable and a second regression equation RE2 having the second coefficient B as the dependent variable.
