PRODUCTION METHOD FOR METHANE HYDRATE USING BED IMPROVEMENT

[Problem] In the production of sand-layer methane hydrate, there are problems in terms of bed compaction and production of sand within mines, and the effect of existing methods to counter sand production is inadequate. [Solution] The present invention prevents the fluidization of sand generated when methane hydrate is cracked, by injecting an improving agent which can adequately anchor sand particles into the space (particles) between sand particles which are unsolidified or weakly solidified and that constitute the bed to be developed. In addition, provided is a technique for suppressing the production of sand within mines, contributing to the stable production of gas, by injecting a filling material into the target bed in the periphery of a well, to create a porous improved body having adequate strength and good permeability. The present invention also performs permeability restoration measures such as fracturing or chemical processing on a bed which has been subjected to the abovementioned improvements, and thereby combine stabilization of the bed with gas productivity.
