The invention relates to a method performed in an ERPS network of handling a sub- ring link failure, and an interconnection node (103) performing the method. In an aspect, a method performed by a first interconnection node (103) in an ERPS network (100) of handling a sub-ring link failure is provided, said first interconnection node (103) being configured to interconnect a sub-ring and a major ring of the EPRS network (100), via which EPRS network (100) a data path is provided from a source node (101) connected to the major ring to a destination node (102) connected to the sub-ring, wherein in case a failure occurs in a link of the sub-ring which causes data transmission over said data path between the source node (101) and the destination node (102) to fail, a sub-ring node (104) being configured to control a ring protection link, RPL, in the sub-ring to unblock said RPL in order to provide an alternative data path between the source node (101) and the destination node (102). The method comprises identifying (S103) any major ring nodes forming part of the failed data path and interconnecting the first interconnection node (103) and a second interconnection node (104) of the EPRS network (100), and instructing (S104) said identified any major ring nodes (105) to perform a Forwarding Database, FDB, flush operation as a result of the path data from the source node (101) to the destination node (102) having changed to the alternative data path.
