A method for error detection in text writing, a terminal device, and a storage medium. The method comprises: obtaining contact data of a handwriting of text writing when a user writes text on a writing board, the contact data comprising one or more of contact coordinates, a contact generation time, and a contact pressure value; determining an incorrectly-written stroke in the handwriting according to a text writing rule and the contact data; and controlling to display the handwriting on a display screen, and marking the incorrectly-written stroke. In embodiments of the present invention, error detection can be performed for a stroke in a handwriting, and a wrong stroke can be marked and displayed.
