The invention comprises an amorphous ion conductive inorganic solid exhibiting a conductivity between 3 mS/cm and 10 mS/cm or more. The amorphous inorganic solid comprises the chemical elements lithium (Li), sulfur (S), phosphor (P) and - optionally - iodine (I), having the general formula xLil + (1-x) (0.75Li₂S + 0.2 P₂S₅) whereat the index x may accept any value between 0.0 and 0.5. The invention further comprises a method for manufacturing the amorphous ion conductive inorganic solid and the use of the amorphous ion conductive inorganic solid for the manufacturing of lithium-ion-batteries.
