Disclosed are a data-processing-based drug use monitoring method and apparatus for a traditional Chinese medicine prescription. The method comprises: acquiring a traditional Chinese medicine prescription of a medical unit to be monitored (S11); acquiring drug information of each dose of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces in at least one dose of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, and determining, according to the drug information of each dose of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, an average daily drug cost of a single prescription of the medical unit to be monitored (S12); acquiring traditional Chinese medicine decoction piece information of various kinds of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces comprised in the drug information of each dose of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, and determining an average daily cost of a single kind of drugs in a single prescription of the various kinds of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces according to the traditional Chinese medicine decoction piece information of the various kinds of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces (S13); and according to the average daily drug cost of a single prescription and the average daily cost of a single kind of drugs in a single prescription of the various kinds of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces, determining whether drug use of the traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces of the medical unit to be monitored meets a standard (S14). Using the method can improve the accuracy of drug use monitoring on traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces of a medical unit and improve the reliability of drug use monitoring on the medical unit, and the method is of great applicability.
