Disclosed are a control method capable of controlling an MCU and a video conference terminal by using a user terminal, and a video conference system for the control method. A video conference control method according to the present invention includes: a pairing request step in which a user terminal is connected by wire or wirelessly to an MCU, and then makes a request to the MCU to pair with a target video conference terminal; a pairing step in which the user terminal forms a control channel with the MCU according to an approval by the MCU for the pairing request; and a control step in which, after the pairing step, the user terminal requests the MCU for one of control items allowed by the MCU.
