The present invention addresses the problem of providing: an azeotropic or azeotrope-like composition containing HFO-1132(E) and HFC-143a; and a method for separating HFO-1132(E) and HFC-143a from the composition containing HFO-1132(E) and HFC-143a. To solve the problem, a composition containing a refrigerant is provided, wherein: the refrigerant is azeotropic or azeotrope-like and contains trans-1,2-difluoroethylene (HFO-1132(E)) and 1,1,1-trifluoroethane (HFC-143a); and in the refrigerant, the content ratios of HFO-1132(E) and HFC-143a to the total amount of HFO-1132(E) and HFC-143a are 80 mass% or more and 20 mass% or less, respectively.
