The invention further relates to a method for fitting a cover (100) of this kind, said method comprising at least the following method steps: fitting the trim (140) and the cap (160) so as to form a preassembled subassembly (180); fitting the support (120) on a seat frame (62) of the vehicle seat (50); positioning an upholstered section (70) on the seat frame (62); inserting the subassembly (180), particularly through a through opening (74) in the upholstered section (70), into the support (120), whereby an edge region (84) of a covering (80) of the upholstered section (70) is clamped between the trim (140) and the support (120); and fastening the subassembly (180) to the support (120).
