The invention relates to an assembly for an agricultural sowing machine comprising the following features: a supply which can be coupled to a supply line (5), via which seeds can be supplied by means of a pressurised fluid flow; a sowing meter (9) which has a separating device in a housing (8), which is designed to separate the seeds in an overpressure environment formed inside the housing (8) and to discharge same via an outlet for the purpose of spreading; a collection chamber (14) which is connected to the supply and designed to accommodate the seeds received via the supply and to discharge same to the separating device; a bypass channel (17) which is formed separately from the collection chamber (14) and is fluidically connected to the interior of the housing (8); and an overflow device (18) which is fluidically connected to the supply and/or the collection chamber (14) and designed to allow part of the pressurised fluid flow to overflow into the bypass channel (17) and from there into the housing (8), supporting the overpressure environment and free from a passing over of seeds that are transported by means of the pressurised fluid flow. The invention also relates to a method for separating seeds in an assembly for an agricultural sowing machine, as well as an agricultural sowing machine.
