This text generation device has: an estimation unit which, using a first text and an output length as inputs, estimates a level of importance of each word making up the first text by means of a learned model; and a generation unit which generates a second text on the basis of the levels of importance, whereby it becomes possible to evaluate, for a constituent of an inputted text, a level of importance in accordance with a specified output length.
