The air conditioner (1) comprises a vortex ring generation device (14), a fan (16), a memory (100) and a processor (200), wherein the fan (16) works to supply air to the vortex ring generation device (14), the memory (100) is configured to store a computer program, the processor (200) is configured to execute a computer program to implement: acquiring the current operating mode of the air conditioner (1); and controlling the working state of the vortex ring generation device (14) according to the current operating mode. The method can implement conventional wind or vortex ring airflow wind, change the problem in the existing art of only laminar or turbulent wind, and realize personalized wind, thereby meeting the requirements of different users and improving the user experience.
