An advection fog forecasting system and forecasting method. By employing the principle of wireless communication signals being influenced by weather parameters, radio transmission signals possibly forming a fog region are acquired, certain fog attenuation may be generated due to the influence on the radio signals by the fog, the attenuation value is shown on a radio received signal strength indicator (RSSI), and forecasting of the advection fog is performed according to a RSSI change curve and referring to weather parameters such as the humidity, wind speed and rainfall in the measurement region. LoRa base stations having long transmission distances are employed to transmit and receive radio signals when the forecasting of the advection fog is performed. In the same measurement range, the number of the LoRa base stations required to be deployed is reduced, so that the costs of the forecasting of the advection fog are reduced.
