The present invention relates to a composition for growth inhibition of colon cancer stem cells comprising an extract of novel lichen endogenous fungus as an active ingredient. An extract of novel lichen endogenous fungus EL001668 (KACC 83020BP) isolated from Cetraria laevigata lichen inhibits the expression of ALDH-1, CD133, CD44, Lgr-5, and Msi-1, which are colon cancer stem cell markers, induces the death of colon cancer stem cells, and inhibits self-regeneration and differentiation into cancer cells of the colon cancer stem cells, thereby being usefully used as an active ingredient in a composition for inhibiting tumor stem cell growth.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
