The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for detecting a concentration index based on a neural network and a cepstrum technique. The apparatus for detecting a concentration index may comprise: a neural network learning unit for acquiring learning data in which a correlation between a cepstrum coefficient and an intensive index is defined, and machine learning a neural network through the learning data; an electroencephalograph (EEG) measuring unit for measuring an EEG signal of a test subject; an EEG cepstrum calculating unit having a plurality of EEG filters having different EEG frequency bands, and performing a cepstrum operation based on the plurality of EEG filters to calculate a cepstrum coefficient corresponding to the EEG; and a concentration calculation unit which identifies and notifies a concentration index corresponding to the cepstrum coefficient using the neural network.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
