The present invention relates to an internet-based automatic ship identification system and a method thereof. According to one embodiment, an internet-based automatic ship identification service method comprises the steps of: receiving a first message including navigation intention information from a first ship through a first communication system; extracting the navigation intention information from the received first message; converting the extracted navigation intention information in accordance with a preset navigation rule; generating a second message in accordance with a second communication system using the converted navigation intention information; and transmitting the generated second message to a second ship through the second communication system.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
