The present invention relates to a method of producing reconstituted tobacco leaves loaded with calcium carbonate (CaCO_3), and reconstituted tobacco leaves produced thereby, and more specifically, to a method of producing reconstituted tobacco leaves, in which when preparing the reconstituted tobacco leaves, after mixing calcium oxide (CaO) with a portion of tobacco leave source materials, without directly adding calcium carbonate, carbon dioxide (CO_2) is injected therein to form CaCO_3 via a reaction of CaO and CO_2, and subsequently, additional tobacco leave source materials are further mixed therewith to produce reconstituted tobacco leaves; and to reconstituted tobacco leaves produced by the method. The reconstituted tobacco leaves produced according to the present invention show a high degree of whiteness and uniform combustibility, and have an excellent retention rate without the use of retention-improving agents.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
