The present invention relates to a learning support system using artificial intelligence-based augmented reality and virtual reality and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the system comprises: a teacher terminal unit which generates and transmits voice information of a teacher, teacher motion information according to the movement of the teacher, and a teacher viewpoint image captured from the viewpoint of the teacher; a student terminal unit which generates and transmits voice information of a student, student motion information according to the movement of the student, and a student viewpoint image captured from the viewpoint of the student; and an education server which synthesizes a virtual reality-based learning image generated based on the voice information of the teacher and the motion information according to the movement of the teacher with the student viewpoint image, and provides the synthesized image to the student terminal. The education server can include an artificial intelligence learning assistant unit which selects and provides supplementary learning content based on artificial intelligence according to the student′s learning state. According to the present invention, the secondary learning content can be selected and provided based on the artificial intelligence in accordance with the learning state of the students participating in the learning, thereby supporting classes to be performed more efficiently.
