Provided are an apparatus and a method for ultrafast positron emission tomography (PET) image acquisition based on deep learning to reduce a PET photographing time. According to the present invention, the apparatus for ultrafast PET image acquisition comprises: an image collector collecting PET images captured through a PET device by a plurality of preset durations; a database storing the PET image for each duration inputted through the image collector; a data learning machine grouping the PET images for each duration into a plurality of time units and using the grouped PET images as a learning image to pre-train a predetermined deep learning model; and an image generator, when receiving the PET image captured for a first duration from the PET device, inputting the received PET image captured for the first duration to the pre-trained deep learning model to generate and output a predicted PET image reconfigured to correspond to a second duration.
