The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating inflammatory diseases, including an extract of fermented Cordyceps militaris cultured on Rhynchosia Nulubilis or a fraction thereof, as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the extract of fermented Cordyceps militaris cultured on Rhynchosia Nulubilis or a fraction thereof shows no cytotoxicity, inhibits NO activity of macrophages stimulated with LPS, suppresses expression of inflammation-modulating markers iNOS and COX2, inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and TNF-α, MAPK signal transferring factors p-JNK, p-p38 and p-ERK, and inflammation-related transcription factors p-NFκB and p-IκB, reduces secretion of beta-hexosaminidase and shows an anti-allergic effect in Type I and Type IV allergy animal models, and thus can be useful for treating, preventing or alleviating inflammatory diseases.
