Canola germplasm imparts high protein content and low fiber content to canola seeds, which canola plants produce seeds with an average of at least 68% oleic acid (C18: 1) and less than 3% linolenic acid (C18: 3) do. The canola seed properties may also include at least 45% crude protein and up to 18% acidic detergent insoluble fiber content on an oil-free dry mass basis. Certain embodiments further comprise one or more properties selected from the group consisting of reduced polyphenol content and increased phosphorus content. In certain embodiments, the present invention relates to canola plants comprising such germplasm and plant products produced therefrom (eg, seeds). Canola plants comprising the germplasm of the present invention may exhibit advantageous seed composition properties that make them particularly valuable as a source for canolabac.
