Small cell network architecture for servicing multiple network operators

A system for managing a small cell wireless communication system providing services to a plurality of network operators is provided. In one embodiment, a small cell wireless communication system can include a management sub-system comprising a controller, a plurality of baseband processing units, a transmission module, and a plurality of remote antenna units in communication with the controller. The controller can communicate with a plurality of core networks. Each of the core networks may be operated by a separate network operator to provide wireless communication services to terminal devices. Each of the baseband processing units may process data plane data and control plane data from at least one corresponding core network. The transmission module may communicate signals between the baseband processing units and the remote antenna units of a small cell network. The management sub-system may provide each core network with a corresponding capacity size of the small cell network based on a corresponding subset of the baseband processing units assigned to each core network.
