In a simulation method according to an embodiment of the present invention, a data providing unit may provide 3D geospatial data corresponding to information for determining the surrounding topography of a building and typical meteorological year (TMY) climate data corresponding to information on the amount of insolation emitted to the building. A reference value calculator sequentially adjusts the awning length and the awning angle of an awning device disposed in an awning arrangement area of the building based on the 3D geospatial data and TMY climate data. The reference value calculator multiplies the insolation amount of the insolation area included in the building by an insolation weight to provide an insolation reference value that is sequentially added, and multiplies the insolation amount in an awning area included in the awning device by an awning weight to provide an awning reference value sequentially added. A result calculator calculates the insolation amount in the insulation area, the insolation amount in the awning area, the insolation reference value, and the awning reference value to provide a result score. In the BIPV design simulation method according to the present invention, it is possible to design a BIPV having optimal awning and maximum power generation considering shadow effects based on the result scores determined by calculating the insulation amount in the insulation area, the insolation amount in the awning area, the insolation reference value, and the awning reference value.
