Disclosed are an augmented reality based maintenance method using a 3D object recognition algorithm and an apparatus thereof. According to an embodiment of an application of the present invention, the augmented reality based maintenance apparatus using a 3D object recognition algorithm may comprise: an image capturing unit which captures at least one area of equipment to be serviced which includes a plurality of parts to generate an input image; a pattern generation unit configured to acquire a spectral pattern corresponding to the plurality of parts based on drawing data of the plurality of parts of the equipment to be serviced; an object recognition unit for identifying the parts of the equipment to be serviced included in the input image based on the spectral pattern; and an output display unit for displaying an output image allowing maintenance manual information of the corresponding part to overlap the input image based on the identification result.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2020
