Provided is an image recognition based unmanned payment system using artificial intelligence and big data. The system comprises: a scanner photographing a product and transmitting the photographed product image; a store terminal recognizing an object included in the product image transmitted from the scanner, and outputting a product identification code pre-mapped to the recognized object and stored; a sales terminal recognizing a product name and a product price using the product identification code outputted from the store terminal and performing payment; and an unmanned payment service providing server, wherein the unmanned payment service providing server comprises a receiving part receiving at least one product image photographed from the scanner through the store terminal, a performing part using at least one received product image to perform artificial intelligence learning for recognizing an object which is a product in the product image, and a provision part providing the learning results to the store terminal such that in the store terminal, the object is recognized in the product image.
