An apparatus for generating a moving path for an autonomous vehicle based on artificial intelligence using an around view monitoring (AVM) system and an operating method thereof are disclosed. The moving route generating apparatus and its operating method according to the present invention obtains a top view image of the vehicle through an AVM system provided in the vehicle, and calculates the contours of the left and right lanes of the vehicle from the top view image of the vehicle. It detects, generates coordinate values for the left and right lanes based on the contours of the left and right lanes of the vehicle, and calculates a quadratic function based on an artificial intelligence model based on the coordinate values of the left and right lanes. After generation, the curve according to the quadratic function is determined as the moving path of the vehicle, so that the autonomous vehicle can be supported to relatively accurately travel even in a narrow alley.
