FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing (co)polymer of glycolide and/or lactide for making absorbable surgical products. Method of producing (co)polymer of glycolide and/or lactide for making absorbable surgical articles is carried out by polymerization of glycolide and/or lactide in monomer mass under action of tin (II) octanoate catalyst in an inert gas medium while heating, method is characterized by that the process is carried out in presence of 0.01–0.1 wt% of titanium dioxide, reaction mass is first heated to 80–90 °C with exposure for 5 minutes, then to 200–210 °C and at this temperature performing (co)polymerization at ultrasound exposure for 20 minutes.;EFFECT: reduction of total polymerization time, wherein the obtained (co)polymers have molecular weight and melting point required for processing into medical products and have high thermal stability.;1 cl, 1 tbl, 20 ex
