FIELD: education.;SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to training facilities intended for conducting experiments, in particular to a training apparatus for performing experiments on quantum optics for studying protocols of quantum cryptography. Disclosed technical result is achieved due to design of educational apparatus for performing experiments on quantum optics for studying protocols of quantum cryptography, which comprises transmitting and receiving units connected by a quantum data channel, wherein the transmitting unit comprises a Faraday mirror, a phase modulator connected through a storage line to the variable optical attenuator, beam splitter and synchronizing detector; receiving unit comprises a laser module connected to a circulator which is connected to a first single photon detector (SPD), a beam splitter coupled to a second SPD, a phase modulator connected through a delay line to a polarizing beam splitter; wherein the transmitting unit comprises a functional PLD connected to a control PLD connected to the first control computing device, wherein the functional PLD delays the electric pulses to allow their arrival to the phase modulator at the required time; receiving unit comprises a functional PLD connected to a control PLD connected to a first control computing device, wherein functional PLD provides shortening to several nanoseconds of electric pulse sent by laser module; and the first and second computing devices provide control of the quantum key distribution process.;EFFECT: broader functional capabilities owing to supplying the transmitting and receiving units with a combination of control and functional PLDs connected to computer computing devices, providing convenient and fast installation of required experiment parameters using the installed optical circuit.;5 cl, 7 dwg, 1 tbl
