FIELD: veterinary science.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science, particularly to methods of treating respiratory diseases of young farm animals, and can be used for treating lambs in bronchopneumonia. Method for treating lambs in bronchopneumonia with a selective biodegradable complex involves administering an intramuscular antibacterial preparation for 3 days: antibiotic of a group of macrolides, tetracyclines, aminoglycosides, polymyxins, penicillins, a quinoxaline derivative, taking into account its activity with respect to bacterial agents involved in aetiology and pathogenesis of bronchopneumonia. Carrier of the antibacterial preparation is chitosan, wherein the antibacterial preparation is introduced into the posterior region of the scapula in dose of 0.6 ml/10 kg of animal's body, three times every 24 hours.;EFFECT: marked selectivity, increased bioavailability, reduced toxicity, capable of providing radical therapy of acute catarrhal bronchopneumonia and possibility of slaughtering animals for meat 72 hours after the last introduction of the preparation.;4 cl, 1 dwg, 4 ex
