A method comprising: a) producing a melt of sodium acetate trihydrate; b) optionally adding further optional ingredients; c) optionally adding at least one aesthetic; d) feeding the melt to a drop former with a rotating, perforated outer drum; e) applying drops of the melt on a steel strip by means of the drop former, the mixture applied from the drop former having a weight ratio of water to sodium acetate of 0.63 or above and melting bodies which can be produced by this method.
