The present invention relates to a process for producing a protein-functionalized crosslinked copolymer, in which a reaction mixture which comprises at least two comonomers and a reactive crosslinker is initiated and (co) -polymerized. Polymerization and crosslinking take place simultaneously. The present invention also relates to a correspondingly prepared crosslinked copolymer and a gel containing this copolymer. Furthermore, possible uses of the gel are named.
