The device (1) for packaging and distributing the product has a pre-assembled internal unit (25) which is mounted in a hollow body (2) and the dispensing head (6) of which is surrounded by an upper connector (17) for fixing the body removably. The internal unit includes a tank and the head seals the opening of the tank. A peripheral holding ring (24) of the internal unit holds the tank and the head together. The connector (17) is connected to the body by a locking action which is effected by a relative pivoting between the connector (17) and the body (2), without interference with the ring (24). An actuating part of a head metering pump is accessible at the top through a connector conduit, while an external tubular part (107) of the connector covers the area of attachment to the body, axially extending a outer wall of the body.
