Fish-friendly water intake screen pivoting mounting base assembly with blanking capability

A mounting frame, the base 1 of which is bolted to the floor of the water intake, that holds a water intake screen (4, fig 1) at an angle between 30 and 75 degrees from horizontal and has a hinge 2 allowing the frame to pivot to a vertical position from which the screen can be removed and installed in a vertical direction from above the water level. Guide rails and runners 6 allow the screen to be accurately positioned on the frame. The frame has a vertical locking device 5 to rigidly lock the frame in the vertical position. A removable blanking shutter 9 can be fitted allows the screen to be removed whilst still excluding fish and or debris by blocking the flow of water.
