Lateral protecting mechanism and child safety seat therewith

Lateral impact protection mechanism 130 on the two side wings 122 of a child seat 100, each wing has a main lateral protection block 131 pivoted to the side wing 122, movable between a using position and a folding position; and a slidable protection release component 132 which extends out of the main block 131 to prevent the main block 131 from being folded into the body in use, or can be pressed and retracted into the main block 131 so that the main block can be packed away and received into the side wing 122 when not in use. The release component 132 may be biased by a resilient member (fig 7, 1324); the main block 131 may pivot about a shaft (fig 8, 133). Second aspect relates to a child seat 100 having two said protection mechanisms 130, each on one of the two side wings 122 of the child seat 100.
