Rotor liner for a filter sub-assembly

A liner (24 Fig 1) for a filter sub-assembly (10 Fig 1) has a wall 30 with an outermost surface 34 and an innermost surface 32, and opposing ends 38, 40 of the liner define a cavity 36. The wall has at least one foldable region 46, 48, and the at least one fold permits the liner to collapse (Fig 3) so that a first portion of the liner 70 can be received in a second portion of the liner 72. The liner and sub-assembly may be used within a centrifugal filter assembly, which may include a base (14 Fig 1) and a housing (12 Fig 1), within which is a rotor body 20 supported about a spindle, and in use, a working fluid, such as an engine lubricant containing a contaminant, is supplied under pressure and tangentially ejected to cause the rotor body to spin and separate particles/debris via centrifugal force. The liner foldable regions 46, 48, allow the liner to collapse so that storage space is minimised.
