An animal amusement device for a horse that comprises a plurality of fins 2 that extend outwards from the central axis of the device, a central open central void (19 figure 6) which accommodates an edible insert 3, a means for holding the fins at a determined orientation around the central axis and a means for opening the central void for insertion of the edible insert. The internal contour of the fins may define the shape of the central open void. The fins and the edible insert may be mounted on a bolt (16 figure 2) that runs along the central axis of the device. Also disclosed is an animal amusement device that comprises a body with a central open void for accommodating an edible insert and a closed cavity that contains a scented material.
