Disclosed is a grate bar for a pallet car of a sintering machine. The grate bar has a grain size grade ranging from 7 to 9, a grain size distribution ranging from 5 μm to 15 μm, a tensile strength ranging from 700 MPa to 900 MPa, and an elongation ranging from 15% to 20%. The grate bar is obtained by means of the following preparation method: pouring a liquid furnace charge obtained after melting into a cavity of a mold, applying a pressure of at least 500 MPa to the furnace charge and maintaining the pressure, and punching a solidified blank that is obtained after solidification.
