A method of preventing a response to a touch screen gesture until an advertisement-related content item is played for a threshold playback time. A method 600 provides, via a display interface, a content feed having at least a first content item and a second content item, the first content item being associated 602 with a threshold play time. Next, determine 604 that the first content item is being played through the display interface. At least one touch screen gesture is received 606 through the display interface.
