The present invention relates to antibodies, which are specifically reactive with short isoform type XVIII collagen but not with medium isoform type XVIII collagen or long isoform type XVIII collagen. The present invention also relates to the use of the antibody in a method of an immunoassay for detecting or quantifying short isoform type XVIII collagen, which method can be used to assess hemophilia disease.
