The impeller filling shoe for feeding the material into the die hole of the rotary press includes a two-chamber filling shoe with a filling impeller and a quantifying impeller and a filling impeller, a quantifying impeller, and a feeding impeller. It is modular in construction to allow switching of functions between a three-chamber filling shoe with an impeller. The impeller filling shoe does not include a gearbox that drives the impeller. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a rotary press with a modular impeller filling shoe, in which the gearbox for driving the impeller is located outside the impeller filling shoe. The invention further relates to the use of an impeller filling shoe according to the invention in a method of converting a two-chamber filling shoe to a three-chamber filling shoe and vice versa.
