The sound pickup device includes a controller that generates object location information indicating a location of the object on the basis of image data of a camera, generates sound-source location information indicating a location of the sound source on the basis of an acoustic signal of a microphone array, sets a weight for the object location information in accordance with an image capturing state of the camera, and determines a direction in which the target sound is to be picked up on the basis of the object location information, the weight for the object location information, and the sound-source location information.
