Method for handling of emergency calls in a roaming scenario, wherein a user equipment, UE, is assigned to a home telecommunications network, wherein upon an establishment or modification of an IP tunnel between a first, visited network node and a second, home network node, emergency service information is transmitted to the second node, wherein in case that both, a voice call is initiated by the UE using a valid emergency call telephone number of the visited network, and, the UE handling the call as a normal voice call (non-UE detected emergency call),the method comprises the sequential steps of: the UE initiating the call by transmitting a message comprising the emergency number to the home network, detecting based on the emergency service information that the number is a valid emergency number in the visited network, generating by the home network a second message indicating to the UE that it is to trigger an emergency call in the visited network using a third message.
